Steve O'Connell Senior Vice President, Structured Finance

Steve O’Connell is senior vice president of structured finance and oversees the modeling, structuring and analysis of the company’s asset-backed securities and serves as the company’s principal interface with the analytic groups at investment banks and the structured finance side of the bond-rating agencies.

Previously, Mr. O’Connell held positions in loan accounting and financial planning and analysis. Prior to joining Sallie Mae in 1985, he was an accountant at First Boston Capital Group.

Mr. O’Connell received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland and a Master of Business Administration degree in finance from George Washington University.
