Electronic signature

Electronic signature is our convenient and fast way to sign your online application!

What is an electronic signature?

Our electronic signature is an online process to sign a student loan application or promissory note.

If you are signing a federal Master Promissory Note, it can be a one-time event.

What are the benefits of electronic signature?

  • You don't need to print and mail your application or master promissory note.
  • Your funds are disbursed faster.

How does electronic signature work?

Borrowers review the application or promissory note and electronically "sign" by typing their name in the fields provided.

Can I get a copy of my loan application or promissory note if I sign electronically?

Yes. This can be done three ways:

  • You can locally print your application or promissory note during the online application process.
  • You can request to have a copy of your application or promissory note mailed during the application process.
  • You can request a copy from Sallie Mae at (888) 2-SALLIE (888-272-5543) after you have electronically signed your application or promissory note.

What if I don't want to electronically sign? What if I change my mind after starting the process?

You may select "No, I will sign traditionally on paper."

If you start the electronic signature process and later change your mind, you can exit the process at any time and sign a paper application.
