Technical notes

• DocumentDirect for the Internet Version 4.2 requires Sun Java 1.4.2_11 or higher. Before using Version 4.2 for the first time, you may be prompted to download the most recent version of Sun Java. This download will require you to have administrative rights to the computer. Please refer to the DocumentDirect for the Internet Version 4.2 Reference Guide for External Users for further information.
• DocumentDirect for the Internet Version 4.2 may require the installation of an ActiveX printer control for which administrative rights are required. Please refer to the DocumentDirect for the Internet Version 4.2 for External Users for further information.

Signing on

1. Navigate to and launch DocumentDirect for the Internet Version 4.2.
2. Type your Sallie Mae authentication ID and password.
3. Click Log in.
   Note: If you are a first time user, refer to the DocumentDirect for the Internet Version 4.2 Reference Guide for further information.
4. From the database menu, click the icon of the database you want to open.
5. Type your ViewDirect recipient ID and password.
6. Click OK.
