Joseph DePaulo is executive vice president of banking and finance for Sallie Mae, the nation’s No. 1 financial services company specializing in education. In this role he is responsible for the company’s finance, accounting, treasury, investor relations, and mergers and acquisitions. He is also a member of the Sallie Mae Bank board.
Mr. DePaulo joined Sallie Mae in 2009 as executive vice president and chief marketing officer, building the company’s consumer product set that includes education loan products, retail banking, college savings programs and rewards, as well as campus solutions products that include tuition payment plans and refunds. He co-founded Credit One Financial Services, a consumer finance company where he served as chief executive officer. Before that, Mr. DePaulo held several executive positions at MBNA, most recently as U.S. Card group executive and member of the corporate management committee. During his MBNA tenure, he also held appointments as chief marketing officer of MBNA Europe, head of mergers and acquisitions, and credit policy director for the U.S. card division.
Mr. DePaulo received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College.
