We’re making updates to help make your online banking experience with us better. Here’s what you can expect:

Simpler login experience

Use one username and password for any account (loans or bank accounts).

New mobile app

Access and manage your bank accounts more easily than ever before. Push alerts will no longer be supported.

Updated look and feel

Our brand is evolving—which means a simpler and more intuitive experience for you.

What you need to do

On September 3, 2019, your online banking experience will be updated. Different customers will have different steps to take:

If you have a Sallie Mae bank account only (such as a High-Yield Savings Account, Certificate of Deposit, or Money Market Account)

  • You’ll be asked to create a new password upon logging in.
  • You’ll also be asked to confirm a few pieces of information including your Social Security number and date of birth.
  • You’ll also be asked to verify a one-time confirmation code.

If you have a bank account and a Sallie Mae loan

  • From now on, you’ll use your username and password for your loan account to access your Sallie Mae bank accounts.

In some cases, you may need to create a new username and password

To ensure usernames meet all requirements, you may be asked to create a new username and password for your Sallie Mae accounts. Your existing username and password will become invalid.

Will the website look different?

Yes. You’ll notice a new look. Our brand is evolving and you’ll get the first glimpse of our new logo, colors and more.

Is the mobile app changing?

You’ll see improvements in our app, too. We’re also eliminating push alerts. Visit the App Store or Google Play to get the updates.

Will the website be down?

Yes. The site will be unavailable Friday, August 30, through Monday, September 2, as we update your online experience. As we prepare for the updates, you’ll be unable to set up any new accounts or add an external funding source from August 26 - September 2.

Is my account or routing number changing?

No. They are not changing.

Will direct deposit, one-time transfers, or recurring transfers be impacted?

No. None of these will be impacted.
