Program

Sallie Mae offers customers mobile access to account information through SMS banking, a downloadable app, and mobile web. Customers also have the option to set up and customize alerts such as low balance notifications. Enrollment requires identification of the user's banking relationship with Sallie Mae as well as verification of the mobile device associated with the account. The mobile device number is confirmed via a verification PIN sent via SMS text to the mobile device. The user will have to enter the verification PIN during enrollment when prompted. Customers have the ability to customize alerts and other preferences which will determine, together with their account data, the frequency of alerts delivered. This program will be ongoing. Message and data rates may apply. Customers will be allowed to opt out of this program at any time.

Cost to Participate: Although Sallie Mae Mobile Banking is complimentary and requires no purchase or fee for participation, message and data rates may apply. Please check with your individual mobile provider to determine any charges that you could incur for Native App, Mobile Web, or SMS mobile banking usage.

Find Your Carrier: Sallie Mae Mobile Banking is compatible with AT&T, Sprint, Nextel, Boost, Verizon Wireless, Virgin Mobile, T-Mobile®, U.S. Cellular®, Cincinnati Bell, Cricket, and MetroPCS mobile devices. To participate, your mobile device needs to be text message-enabled. We try to ensure everyone can participate but depending on your carrier, plan and mobile device, we can't guarantee it will work for you.

To Opt Out: To stop text messages coming to your mobile device, just send a text that says 'STOP' to 55269. Please note, you will receive a final opt-out confirmation text after requesting to opt out.

Terms and Conditions

By enrolling in Sallie Mae Mobile Banking, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions presented here. These Terms and Conditions shall be in addition to and not in derogation of the specific Terms and Conditions applicable to the Sallie Mae deposit accounts. These Terms and Conditions may change over time, and in the case of any material change we will notify you via e-mail or with a link to the updated terms on our website. Your continued use of the services will indicate your acceptance of the revised Terms and Conditions.

You confirm that the mobile device number(s) provided to Sallie Mae is/are owned by you or are under your control and that any communication from and to the said mobile device(s) is and shall be with the your knowledge and consent. You agree to inform us of any change in the mobile device number(s), loss of your mobile device(s), the mobile device(s) being outside your control and/or any other change that may affect the provision of the Sallie Mae Mobile Banking services to you. In all circumstances, you accept full responsibility for any and all Instructions sent to us from the mobile device(s) and hereby authorize us to act on the instructions and process any and all transactions we receive from your mobile device(s).

You understand and agree that we may, at our sole discretion, record any and all information, instructions or transactions relayed from your mobile device(s) to us or through intermediaries and to the mobile device(s) from us and/or from intermediaries and collect and store the same along with all information in such form and manner as we deem necessary and appropriate. You agree that the data and information so stored may be relied upon by us and be made known to any person who may reasonably require the same and/or may be produced in evidence in any proceedings or otherwise.

You acknowledge that in connection with your use of Sallie Mae Mobile Banking, Sallie Mae and its affiliates and service providers may receive and may share with one another names, domain names, addresses, passwords, telephone and phone numbers, the content of messages, data files and other data and information provided by you or from other sources in connection with the Sallie Mae Mobile Banking or software (collectively "User Information"). Sallie Mae and its affiliates and service providers will maintain reasonable safeguards to protect the information from unauthorized disclosure or use, but reserve the right to use and disclose this information as reasonably necessary to deliver Sallie Mae Mobile Banking and as otherwise permitted by law, including compliance with court orders or lawful instructions from a government agency, to protect the personal safety of subscribers or the public, to defend claims, and as otherwise authorized by you. Sallie Mae and its affiliates and service providers also reserve the right to monitor use of Sallie Mae Mobile Banking and Software for purposes of verifying compliance with all laws and regulations, these terms and conditions and any applicable license, but disclaim any obligation to monitor, filter, or edit any content.

You agree not to use Sallie Mae Mobile Banking and Software in or for any illegal, fraudulent, unauthorized or improper manner or purpose. You further agree that your use of the services and software will be used in compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations, including all applicable state, federal, and international Internet, data, telecommunications, telemarketing, "spam," and import/export laws and regulations, including U.S. Export Administration Regulations. Without limiting the foregoing, you agree that you will not use Sallie Mae Mobile Banking and Software to transmit or disseminate junk mail, spam, or unsolicited material to persons or entities that have not agreed to receive such material or to whom you do not otherwise have a legal right to send such material or material that infringes or violates any third party's intellectual property rights, rights of publicity, privacy, or confidentiality, or the rights or legal obligations of any wireless service provider or any of its clients or subscribers.

We shall use our best efforts to effect payments/carry-out instructions received by us within such time as may be specified by us, however, we do not guarantee that the payment/fulfillment of instructions or the availability of Sallie Mae Mobile Banking within such specified time frames since Sallie Mae Mobile Banking depends on various electronic technology used from time to time and may pass through various intermediaries, which may cause delays and failures in receipt or transmission of any instructions by or from us or by or from you. Accordingly, we shall not be liable for any loss, damage whether direct or indirect, costs, charges or expenses incurred by you due to a delay/inability in providing the Sallie Mae Mobile Banking services. We may, for any reason whatsoever, decide not to make the Payment and shall communicate through SMS such a decision to you as soon as practicable. We shall not be held liable for any loss, damage whether direct or indirect, costs, charges or expenses incurred by you in this regard.

You acknowledge that Sallie Mae Mobile Banking is dependent on the infrastructure, connectivity and services provided by the cellular phone service providers ("Service Providers") and the Intermediaries engaged by us. You accept that timeliness, accuracy and readability of SMS texts and instructions/information shall depend on factors affecting the Service Providers and Intermediaries. We shall not be liable for non-delivery or delayed delivery of, payments, error, loss or distortion in transmission of information and Instructions to/from you or a merchant or other payment recipient.

We shall not be liable in contract, tort or otherwise for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage sustained by you by any direct or indirect use of or reliance on the electronic communication, orders or messages whether with or without the utilization of any security measures, including but not limited to any loss or damage resulting as a consequence of any defects, delays, interruptions, errors, inaccuracies or failures in the various communications and we specifically excludes the same to the fullest extent permitted by law even if we shall have been advised in advance of the possibility of such damages.

Without prejudice to anything contained in these Terms and Conditions, we make no express or implied warranty with respect to Sallie Mae Mobile Banking or any other services provided hereunder including, without limitation, any warranties of non-infringement of third party rights, title, marketability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose.

We reserve the right, but shall not be obliged, to (i) make changes, enhancements, and/or modifications to Sallie Mae Mobile Banking offered by us from time to time including limiting the amount and frequency of types of transactions you may make; (ii) with prior notice to you, charge fees for the provision of any and/or all of the Sallie Mae Mobile Banking services; and (iii) to terminate any or all of Sallie Mae Mobile Banking services without prior notice.

Sallie Mae e-deposit

Program

Sallie Mae e-deposit provides remote deposit capture services that allow you to deposit monies to your checking, savings or money market savings accounts from home or other remote locations. By participating in this service you agree to scan and deposit only checks as that term is defined in Federal Reserve Regulation CC ('Reg CC'). Please note, Sallie Mae reserves the right to revoke e-deposit service at any time for any reason and to limit the number of deposit items you may deposit through the e-deposit service or any of its features.

Terms and Conditions

By utilizing Sallie Mae Sallie e-deposit, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions presented here (the "Terms"). These Terms shall be in addition to and not in derogation of the specific terms and conditions applicable to the Sallie Mae deposit accounts and, if applicable, Sallie Mae Mobile Banking. These Terms may change over time, and in the case of any material change we will notify you via e-mail or with a link to the updated terms on our website. Your continued use of the services will indicate your acceptance of the revised Terms.

Without prejudice to anything contained in these Terms, we make no express or implied warranty with respect to Sallie Mae e-deposit provided hereunder including, without limitation, any warranties of non-infringement of third party rights, title, marketability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose.

We reserve the right, but shall not be obliged, to (i) make changes, enhancements, and/or modifications to Sallie Mae e-deposit offered by us from time to time including limiting the amount and frequency of types of transactions you may make; (ii) with prior notice to you, charge fees for the provision of any and/or all of the Sallie Mae e-deposit services; and (iii) to terminate any or all of Sallie Mae e-deposit services without prior notice.

By utilizing Sallie Mae e-deposit you agree to:

  • Transmit images of a legible quality. The image must comply with the requirement established from time to time by ANSI, the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, or any other regulatory agency, clearing house or association.
  • Restrictively endorse any item transmitted through Sallie Mae Mobile Banking as "For deposit only, Sallie Mae Bank account number"
  • Prominently mark physical checks deposited as 'Electronically Presented' or 'Void' once confirmation has been received from Sallie Mae. Also, to properly dispose of checks to ensure they are not represented for payment. You also hereby agree to not represent any item for repayment.
  • Recognize deposit limits set by Sallie Mae bank. We reserve the right to impose limits on the amount(s) and/or number of deposits that you transmit using e-deposit and are free to modify such limits from time to time.
  • Obtain and maintain hardware and software at your own expense to support e-deposit participation.

Funds Processing: All funds electronically deposited after 3:00 PM ET via remote deposit capture will be considered received on the next business day and will be subject to standard hold times from such date of receipt.

Prohibited Transactions: You are prohibited from and hereby agree not to deposit the following types of checks through e-deposit:

  • Checks payable to any person or entity other than you.
  • Checks containing obvious alteration to any of the fields on the front of the check or item, or which you know or suspect, or should know or suspect, are fraudulent or otherwise not authorized by the owner of the account on which the check or item is drawn.
  • Checks previously converted to a substitute check, as defined in Reg CC.
  • Checks drawn on a financial institution located outside the United States.
  • Checks that are remotely created, as defined in Reg CC.
  • Checks not payable in United States currency.
  • Traveler's checks or money orders.
  • Checks dated more than six months prior to the date of deposit.
  • Checks prohibited by Sallie Mae's current procedures relating to Sallie Mae Mobile Banking or which are otherwise not acceptable under the terms of your account(s).
