Tuition Assistance for Armed Forces Personnel

To thank service members for their vital work, military tuition assistance is a benefit available to eligible members of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard. This assistance can help pay up to 100% of tuition expenses.

Both the federal government and non-profit organizations offer programs for military personnel to get free money for college (grants and scholarships) as well as tuition assistance programs offering low-interest-rate federal and private loans to help pay for college.

The GI Bill, which has helped millions of returning soldiers pay for college for decades, is now helping a new generation of Americans support their dreams of higher education. The official GI Bill website is an excellent resource for information on deciding on a career in the military, finding an eligible school, and applying for all the federal military benefits you deserve.

Each branch of the military has its own criteria to qualify for military tuition assistance, so be sure to do your research if you’re looking to the military for help to pay for college.
