J. Lance Franke Executive Vice President, Corporate Finance

J. Lance Franke is executive vice president of corporate finance and manages all of the company’s structured finance activity, rating agency relationships and debt investor relations. During his tenure at the company, he has overseen the issuance of over $240 billion in asset-backed securities. He is a member of the company's asset/liability management and credit committees.

Previously, Mr. Franke headed the financial planning and analysis, credit, tax-advantaged investments and public finance departments.

Before joining Sallie Mae in 1981 as a financial analyst, he held positions with Macro International, Xerox Corporation and an Exxon subsidiary.

Mr. Franke received a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the University of Maryland and a Master of Business Administration degree in finance and investments from George Washington University.
