Advanced placement (AP) courses
The advanced placement classes that your child takes in high school can pay off in college, both academically and financially.
Taking college-level classes in high school may be an option for your child. Students who pass the placement exams with a high score could test out of some college courses. This might allow for early graduation or provide the opportunity for your child to take additional courses in their major.
Students should contact their high school to find out if their scores will count toward college credits in an intended major. (One school may accept a certain score while another may require a higher score.)
Your child should speak with a high school guidance counselor for more information.
