Applying for a Care for Virginia student loan
Care for Virginia student loans are low-cost, low-interest Stafford loans available to students who commit to a career in nursing in Virginia. Students can benefit from zero origination fees and a 10% loan credit. This is in addition to other money-saving benefits your Care for Virginia lender may offer.*
The Teach and Care programs for Virginia have been discontinued effective with loans first disbursed February 1, 2008. Loans first disbursed before that date continue to be eligible for the Teach/Care benefits in accordance with the program's terms and conditions.
Your school will determine your financial aid package, including the amount of subsidized and unsubsidized Stafford loans you can receive. This will be based on the information you submitted on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If you have not already submitted a FAFSA, you can complete one online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
