How do I make a payment?
TuitionPay accepts check, electronic check, and credit cards (if permitted by school). Once enrolled, you can process payments by accessing Manage Your Account, our online account information system. If paying online by electronic check, there is no processing fee providing your payment is made on time.
You can view your statement each month online.
Make checks payable to Bank of America. Only checks made in U.S. dollars will be accepted. Enclose your check and the bottom portion of your statement in the return envelope that is provided. Please include your TuitionPay account number on your check. If you are making a payment for two students, please include both account numbers on your check and include both payment stubs.
Mail payments to:
- Bank of America, P.O. Box 970016, Boston, MA 02297-0016 (for NYU students)
- Bank of America, P.O. Box 970015, Boston, MA 02297-0015 (for all other students)
- TuitionPay, 463 Swansea Mall Drive, Swansea, MA 02777 Attn: Payments (for all overnight payments; no weekend or holiday delivery)
TuitionPay will assess an additional charge if a check is not honored by your bank.
To encourage timely payments, a late fee may be assessed.
If your TuitionPay account is cancelled or terminated, you must still fulfill your financial obligations to the school. TuitionPay is obligated to forward to the school only those payments it has received from you.

I am an international student. Can I use the TuitionPay Plan?
We welcome international student participants. However, to enroll, you may be asked for your Social Security number or school-assigned identification number.
Students who do not have these forms of identification can usually get a nine-digit ID number from their school. You may want to get this information before enrolling on the payment plan.
What does “Your school has special requirements” mean?
This means that currently you are not able to enroll for a monthly payment plan online for the school you selected.
You may be able to enroll over the phone with a TuitionPay consultant by calling (800) 635-0120.
What if I do not see a payment plan listed for the semester I am attending?
This may mean that the payment plan you are looking to enroll in is not available for online enrollment at this time.
Please call (800) 635-0120 to see if there are any plans that you may be able to enroll in over the phone.
What do you mean by “plan amount"?
The plan amount is the total amount you want to pay using the TuitionPay Plan. You can include all or any portion of the amount billed to you by the school. Generally, that includes tuition, room and board, and fees.
Personal expenses, books, and travel costs are not usually included in the plan amount.
Your plan amount should cover your entire TuitionPay enrollment period (semester or annual). Once you have determined how much you want to pay, we will divide the plan amount by the number of months in your selected plan which will result in your interest-free monthly payment.
Is this a loan?
The TuitionPay Plan is not a loan. It is an interest-free installment option offered by Sallie Mae.
The plan takes your school bill and splits it into smaller amounts, payable over a number of months. Payments are made using your current income or savings.
What is the "amount due today"?
When you enroll in the payment plan you are required to pay a non-refundable application fee to use the plan and any payments that are due to open the account. The amount due today informs you of the dollar amount that is needed to be paid today to activate your account.
Can I use the plan if I do not accept each agreement?
The agreements are provided so that you are aware of the terms and conditions, late fee policy, and application fee policy when enrolling in a payment plan. To continue your enrollment in the plan, these agreements must be accepted.
Why do you need my date of birth? What is Tuition Protection Coverage?
We need your date of birth to issue your policy certificate for our Tuition Protection Coverage.
Tuition Protection Coverage (TPC) is an insurance option included in many payment plans at no extra cost to you. If your school’s plan includes TPC, any remaining balance up to $40,000 will be covered in the event of the bill payer’s death. The certificate of insurance will note the full details and specifications of your coverage.
Why do you ask for my email address twice?
We ask you for your email address twice because we will send you a notification that your monthly statement is available for online viewing. We need to be sure that we have your correct email address so that you can be sure to receive your monthly notification of statement email.
What is e-Statement?
e-Statement is a service that emails you when your next monthly statement is available online.
When you enroll in or renew your TuitionPay account online, you are automatically set up to receive your monthly statement notifications by email. These notifications will be sent to the email address you provided during the enrollment process and contain a link to view and pay your monthly statement online.
To ensure delivery of TuitionPay emails to your inbox, please add info@tuitionpay.com to your Email Address Book or Safe List.
How do I create an online account?
Creating a username and password allows you to create an online account to help you manage your payment plan. You will be able to log into the Manage Your Account feature from our website and view your online statements, make payments, set up automatic monthly payments, renew your account, and adjust your plan amount, if allowed by the school.
Which accounts are eligible for one-time and automatic electronic payments (e-Check)?
Most banks allow electronic payments from a checking or a non-passbook savings account. All electronic payments must be made in U.S. funds drawn on a U.S. bank.
Some small banks and credit unions may have restrictions on electronic payments. Money market and investment accounts may have similar restrictions. We strongly suggest that you contact your financial institution if you are uncertain whether the account chosen is eligible for electronic payments. Accounts that cannot be accessed for one-time and automatic electronic payments may delay payment processing for your TuitionPay account.
Sallie Mae is not responsible for one-time and automatic electronic payments that are not honored or accepted by your financial institution.
The following accounts are eligible:
- Personal household checking accounts

What if I want to make a change to my automatic withdrawal information?

However, changes to your payment amount or automatic payment information should occur no later than 10 days before the next due date of your payment plan. TuitionPay is not responsible for fees incurred due to changes made outside of these guidelines.
