Service of Process – Subpoenas

Sallie Mae Bank (Sallie Mae) requires that service of process follow applicable law. To ensure your request is handled efficiently, subpoenas can be served through the office of Sallie Mae’s registered agent, Corporation Service Company, 15 West South Temple, Suite 600, Salt Lake City, UT 84101.

Any subpoena issued from a state in which Sallie Mae does not maintain an office or place of business should be domesticated and served in accordance with applicable interstate agreements. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in the delay or rejection of your subpoena.

Response Time

Please allow up to 30 days for a response to any subpoena issued and served in compliance with applicable law. The subpoena should only request those records that are necessary for your legal matter and should clearly identify the account holder and account number or the account holder’s social security number. Unless excepted under applicable law, we reserve the right to charge reasonable copying costs and administrative fees incurred before providing subpoena documents.

Law Enforcement

Sallie Mae will generally accept service of valid subpoenas, court orders, search warrants, and criminal grand jury or other valid law enforcement directives for the production of documents from government entities by mail at Sallie Mae Bank, ATTN: Subpoena Department, 300 Continental Drive, Newark, DE 19713
