College expenses came quickly for my family. Sustained economic instability did not allow me to save money properly when it was time for my 3 daughters to go to college. Sallie Mae allowed my family to continue the path to be a productive American Family.

Sallie Mae makes it super easy to apply, let alone the amazing customer service you get when picking up the phone. I called because I had one question and she offered to help me do the entire application and answered all my other questions.

Sallie Mae helped with funds for my sons! Without those funds it would have been difficult for them to attend college and obtain their degrees. Both are now living their own lives and are doing great!

There are pros and cons to loans in general. However, Sallie Mae was very understanding when I needed a reduction in monthly payment amount due to financial difficulties.

I needed extra financial help for additional college courses and I turned to Sallie Mae when I was informed I reached my limit on funds available from government student loans. The online application process was easy, straight forward and the approval turn around time was quick. Thank you!

I used Sallie Mae when my son reached his maximum loan amount from Federal Student loans. It's a great alternative for students and parents when other avenues are closed. I am grateful and I appreciate that Sallie Mae was able to assist us.

Sallie Mae was a fairly simple process when applying for my loan, and the automatic payments I set up has yielded a smooth payback process.

footnote Borrow responsibly
We encourage students and families to start with savings, grants, scholarships, and federal student loans to pay for college. Students and families should evaluate all anticipated monthly loan payments, and how much the student expects to earn in the future, before considering a private student loan.

footnote 1. For applications submitted directly to Sallie Mae, loan amount cannot exceed the cost of attendance less financial aid received, as certified by the school. Applications submitted to Sallie Mae through a partner website may be subjected to a lower maximum loan request amount. Miscellaneous personal expenses (such as a laptop) may be included in the cost of attendance for students enrolled at least half-time.

footnote 2. APRs shown are based on a $10,000 Undergraduate Loan with a fixed interest rate of 4.75% to 16.53%, variable interest rate of 6.63% to 17.75%, 4-year in-school period, 6-month grace/seperation period, and 10 years of pricinpal and interest payments. A variable APR may increase or decrease over the life of the loan based on changes to the 30-day Average Secured Overnight Financing Rate (SOFR) rounded up to the nearest one-eighth of one percent. Variable APRs shown are the starting range of rates and SOFR changes may cause the APR to vary outside of that range over the life of the loan. Interest is charged starting when funds are sent to the school. With the Fixed and Deferred Repayment Options, the interest rate is higher than with the Interest Repayment Option and Unpaid Interest is added to the loan's Current Pricinpal at the end of the grace/seperation period. To receive a 0.25 percentage point interest rate discount, the borrower or cosigner must enroll in auto debit through Sallie Mae. The discount applies only during active repayment for as long as the Current Amount Due or Designated Amount is successfully withdrawn from the authorized bank account each month. It may be suspended during forbearance or deferment.

footnote 3. The borrower or cosigner must enroll in auto debit through Sallie Mae to receive a 0.25 percentage point interest rate reduction benefit. This benefit applies only during active repayment for as long as the Current Amount Due or Designated Amount is successfully withdrawn from the authorized bank account each month. It may be suspended during forbearance or deferment.
