Say hello to our new authentication experience on March 8, 2026

Starting March 8, 2026, you’ll log in with our new authentication experience on all Sallie Mae and Sallie websites and mobile apps, including online banking.

The log in has a new look and feel. The first time you use the new sign in experience, you’ll select your options and verify. Going forward, each time you log in on any device, you’ll receive an access code to verify your sign in.

We’ve added a level of protection. The extra layer of authentication helps keep your account more secure.

The first time you log in with the new experience, the screen will display the email address that we have for you. If this isn’t your correct email address, call us at 800-472-5543 to update it.

Nope—they stay the same.

You can have a verification code sent to your phone or email, but you can also use an authenticator app or a passkey. Of course, you can add and delete methods on the Authentication screen. Click the three dots to the right of a method and select “Remove” to delete that method. At the bottom of the methods list, select “Add method” to add more.

You sure can. The new log in experience allows you to set that up, whether it’s fingerprint or facial recognition

Simply click Forgot Username or Forgot Password here or on the log in screen. That’ll take you to the next steps. And if you don’t have an account, you can create one right there on the log in page.

We look a little different, but we’re still the same, trusted Sallie Mae. If you have any doubt about authenticity, simply open a new browser window, type in salliemae.com, and log in to your account.
