What we do
Putting Words to Action: How We Promote Diversity in Higher Education and Advance Social Justice
As a company with a foundation in education, we see first-hand how education opens doors, creates opportunities, and advances us as a people. Those doors and opportunities, however, should be open and available to all who seek to advance through higher learning. Learn more about our multi-million dollar commitment to promote diversity and advance social justice with organizations like The Thurgood Marshall College Fund, Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, Points Foundation, the National Urban League, and Know Your Rights Camp.
We strive to help create brighter futures
We work directly with non-profits, like Special Olympics, Junior Achievement, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and more, to help students, families, and individuals in our communities. Whether it’s collecting gifts to donate to local families, sorting and packaging books for kids, or packing meals for families in need, count us in.
We love to get involved
Teaching children, helping animals, improving the environment—we encourage our employees to participate in the volunteer activities they’re passionate about. The Sallie Mae Employee Volunteer Program gives full-time employees, in good standing, paid time off to volunteer in their community.
