If your loan is past due, these messages are an attempt to collect a debt and information obtained will be used for that purpose.
To help contact you more efficiently, you authorize Sallie Mae Bank and its subsidiaries, affiliates and agents, to contact you at any phone number you provide using an auto dialer, pre-recorded messages, or text messages in order to provide alerts and other information regarding your current or future applications and accounts.
The following are the Sallie Mae Scholarship and Marketing Alerts program terms and conditions
Electronic Consent – You consent to receive the text message consent on the webpage with the check box (the “Text Consent”) electronically. This consent only applies to the electronic delivery of the Text Consent. You understand that you need a device with internet access and a recent-generation internet browser to view the Text Consent and a printer or storage device to save it. You may withdraw your permission to receive the Text Consent electronically by unchecking the check box, but doing so will mean that you will not receive the automated text messages described in the Text Consent. The Text Consent is not available in a nonelectronic form.
Cancellation - Text the keyword STOP to any shortcode or phone number to cancel texts through that short code or number. After texting STOP, you will receive one additional message confirming that your request has been processed as to that shortcode or number. You acknowledge that our text message platform may not recognize and respond to unsubscribe requests that do not include the STOP keyword command and agree that Sallie Mae and its service providers will have no liability for failing to honor such requests. If you unsubscribe from one of our text message programs (or through a particular number or short code), you may continue to receive text messages from Sallie Mae through any other programs (or through a particular number or short code) you have joined until you separately unsubscribe from those programs (or through a particular number or short code).
